LAHORE – Federal Minister and PML-Q leader Sheikh Waqas Akram on Thursday called on Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at his Model Town residence and announced to join PML-N along with his family members and companions. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MNA Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, family members of Sheikh Waqas Akram and more than 30 nazimeen also joined the PML-N.Talking to media representatives alongwith Sheikh Waqas, Shahbaz Sharif welcomed Sheikh Waqas Akram, his family members and companions in the party. He said Sheikh Waqas Akram is a respectable politician who was twice elected as MNA. Shahbaz Sharif said that it is the right of everyone to join whichever party he likes after giving resignation.He said after the report of Transparency International Pakistan, those who accused great project of metro bus service to have cost 70 or 90 billion rupees, have now been silenced. While announcing joining with the PML-N, Sheikh Waqas Akram, he has joined this party without any condition. He said he would work under the dynamic leadership of Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for progress of country in accordance with the policies and vision of party leadership. To a question, he said that his criticism on PML-N was due to lack of communication, while he had unmasked corruption in Federal government.He said Punjab government has completed corruption-free development projects, and the fact has also been acknowledged by Transparency International Pakistan. Muhammad Asif said that, although Sheikh Waqas Akram had been criticising the PML-N, but he always raised voice against corruption in the Federal government.
